Carrie Bradshaw makes history in ‘And Just Like That…’ with her latest look

Filming for the second season of HBO Max’s And Just Like That…, the already famous sequel to Sex and the City has officially begun. And while the details of the new phase in Carrie’s life are still being kept under wraps, thankfully the wardrobe department has let us stick our noses out and start mesmerizing Carrie’s upcoming looks via Instagram. In the new image from the shoot that was published on Monday, we see Sarah Jessica Parker characterized as her iconic character with a very trendy look of pink or, rather, fuchsia.

The timeless style prescriber is pictured in a sophisticated vintage dress and matching bag ensemble, accessorized with the Ada chain and Connexion diamond pendant necklace from fine jewelry brand Jemma Wynne. In keeping with that sleek, timeless vibe, Bradshaw wears her graying hair pulled back in a polished bun and shows off fabulous skin with minimal makeup.

As the caption highlights, the look marks a milestone in the Sex and the City universe. It is the first time that Carrie Bradshaw wears a look of the same color from top to bottom, a great plot twist for a character that has been characterized by crazily combining all kinds of clothes – like turning a Hermés scarf into a bandana as a complement to a pink cocktail dress or wear a belt on the abdomen in the air–. In Carrie’s own words, chaos is cohesion.

But who says we can’t change? Admittedly, at first glance, this monochromatic styling is very little Carrie Bradshaw. But on the other hand, being up to date is very her. Wearing all pink is trending right now thanks, for the most part, to Pierpaolo Piccioli’s luscious designs for Valentino. Zendaya, Lizzo, Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, and many other celebs have embraced pink this year. If there’s ever a time for Carrie to join this tonal rush, it’s now.

And of course, we take heed from the show’s costume designers, Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago when they say this is just the first of many forays into monochrome minimalism. As captured in And Just Like That… In the Documentary, both they and Sarah Jessica possess an almost encyclopedic knowledge of every style Bradshaw has worn over the years, backed up by a vast archive and meticulous documentation of the looks. themselves.

But let no one worry. It doesn’t seem like Carrie has completely abandoned her fondness for the craziest, most unexpected style. Last week without going any further, the wardrobe department shared an image of the character hitting the town with a JW Anderson dove clutch
