Chema and Gonzalo’s wedding in Burgos: an idyllic celebration in a hotel with a history (of love)

In a setting overflowing with memories, Chema and Gonzalo celebrated a wedding in Burgos – specifically, at the emblematic Hotel Landa – with an intimate ceremony, surrounded by the love of their closest friends and family. Both are regular hotel guests, confessed lovers of both their surroundings and the service and excellent cuisine they offer. Thus, they were clear that it was the perfect place to celebrate their wedding. “Landa is our happy place, where we got engaged. A place to escape when we want to rest and enjoy the dolce far niente”, maintains the couple.

Thus, under the leitmotiv of fun, they said yes, I do, and in “a sober wedding, without complications”. Both of them were very clear about what they wanted, so they orchestrated a no-frills celebration. “For us, the enjoyment of the people is important and that they eat very well” they assure us us.

They did, however, pay close attention to detail. The design of the wedding invitations was a gift from Maremma Studio, a graphic designer and close friend of the bride and groom; a black and white drawing of the Hotel Landa illustrated in Indian ink. The calligraphy was the work of Andrea Hurtado, from Amae Paper Studio, and the printing was carried out by Ambrona Hermanos, on Old Mill style paper from the Italian firm Fedrigoni.

For a dream wedding, the bride and groom relied on Landa’s team of wedding planners –Sara, Verónica, Johanna,, and Guzmán–. “They made everything perfect,,” they say. White, black,, and red details became the main components of the wedding decoration, inspired by the hotel’s flagship colors. For the rest, the elements in copper tones, gray marble bars, branches with green leaves in handmade baskets, candles, candlesticks,, and bonfires completed the decoration of the space. The wedding tables, extensive and with white tablecloths and red napkins, were the center of the celebration. The catering for the event was carried out by the hotel’s chefs, who prepared a long cocktail of traditional cuisine with iconic dishes from Landa – the lamb chops were the star of the menu. In addition, the guests tasted a buffet of roast beef, foie gras terrines and chorizo cooked in ashes. A long table of sweet cakes put the icing on the banquet. Although the feast did not end here: for dinner,, they served fried eggs with black pudding, hot chocolate,, and exquisite homemade pastries made by Landa’s professional pastry chefs.

Both bride and groom chose a navy blue morning suit and tailor-made vests from the firm Hackett for their bridal styling. For Chema, a blue and white herringbone piece and, for Gonzalo, a green linen vest. “We chose them because we love English tailoring and we like the brand,” says the couple. In addition, the bride and groom wore shirts from Camisería Madrid together with shoes and suspenders from the English brand Bow Tie.
