Ana Locking, Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts

The designer Ana Locking (Toledo, 1970), a member of the current board of directors of the Association of Fashion Creators of Spain (ACME), received last night one of the greatest recognitions of her career in the world of fashion: the gold medal to merit in the fine arts.

In an act held in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the Toledo designer collected the medal from the hands of Queen Letizia, King Felipe VI, and Miquel Iceta, Minister of Culture and Sports, along with other award-winners who stood out in the field of creative culture and conservation of artistic heritage in our country.

“Following your dreams is never easy, they require a lot of work and dedication, they require you to focus completely and they will require constant drive and sacrifices. But if you keep the focus on it nothing is impossible.

This great honor and recognition of my career will help me to overcome obstacles and continue telling stories through fashion or any other creative manifestation that, in the form of a new challenge, I have on my hands.

Ana Locking has a trajectory of more than 25 years. Her work also earned her the National Fashion Design Award in 2020 for helping to broaden the canons of beauty and reflecting the issue of gender and human diversity in her creations.
